I decided to do this water quality detection ship because there is a polluted stream near my home. The pollution to water has affected people's life and culture.I learned that it is still very expensive to detect water quality, so I want to design a water quality detection ship to reduce the cost of detection and help solve water pollution. In this section, there are some photos of testing the ship, an essay about the ship, and a powerpoint for presentation.

After research on water (the ship project), I want to learn more about solid waste. Luckily, I had a chance to study in Tsinghua Suzhou Environmental Innovation Institute to do research on recycling solid waste. I did experiment about several physical principles of tailings, and finally turned tailings into concrete blocks that can be used in architecture and concrete balls that can purify water.

After water project and solid waste research, I decided to learn more about air pollution. Thus, I attended a summer program called Zeal Labs and got a chance to work as an assistant in Xi'an Jiaotong University about flue gas denitration. Through researching online on what are some recent denitration methods, I found that existing methods all have some disadvantages. Therefore, my mentor and I developed a new method of denitration combining SNCR (selective non-catalytic reduction) and wet denitration, which could achieve over 95% denitration efficiency with relatively low cost. I also made a poster and a powerpoint for presentation.
